As a long-term partner of the DofE, we took part in Prince Edward’s visit to Prague

On the occasion of the royal visit, as a long term partner of The Duke of Edinburgh International Award (DofE), we were privileged to meet Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh KG GCVO. The Prince came to support the participants of the DofE programme and reminded them of the importance of non-formal education, which we at Progressus also recognise and believe is worth investing in.

In our company, we place great emphasis on education and support for young talent and projects of this nature have our unequivocal support. The DofE is a great incentive for young people to learn how to develop their potential and at the same time prepare themselves to cope with various obstacles in life. From the very beginning of our cooperation with DofE, we wanted to support especially those participants who do not have the best starting conditions to pursue their desired activities to the full. That’s why we direct our support to the DofE Social Fund, which distributes funding where it is most needed,” says Lukáš Zrůst, co-owner of the Progresus Group.

The royal visit of the Duke of Edinburgh to Prague was accompanied by several exceptional events. These were also attended by the co-owners of our group, Lukáš Zrůst and Lukáš Foral. They attended the planting of the 100th anniversary tree in Prince Philip’s Avenue in Vestec commemorating the memory of Prince Philip’s father and the founder of the programme, and later the Golden Ceremony in the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, where Prince Edward personally awarded the most persistent and successful DofE graduates. The Gala Dinner was the culmination of the ceremony, where a charity fundraiser was held to support disadvantaged young people not only from the Czech Republic but also from Ukraine through the I Stand By You Integration Programme.

“The royal visit and meeting Prince Edward was a unique experience for us. Once again, we confirmed that quality education and supporting the potential of young people is extremely important,” Lukáš Zrůst described his impressions.

We are delighted that through our partnership with the DofE we can continue to help young dofaces on their desired path.
