Together with our factory RD Rýmařov we have supported the exposition “American Framing” (American framework wooden houses) that can be seen in the Jaroslav Fragner’s Gallery until the 26 th of June 2022. There is a prototype of a framework wooden house located right next to the Betlem Chapel, which is part of the exposition and which creates an interesting contrast between the construction of a regular family house and extraordinary sacral building.
Wooden houses, the most widespread building system in the United States
The exposition, which was an appreciated part of the national pavilion of the United States at last year’s Biennale of architecture in Venice, introduces the most common building system in the US. The technology of framework wooden houses was used long ago by the first settlers and it is widely used even nowadays due to its easy construction. The exposition shows how it is possible to use and innovate the traditional but flexible technology. With regard to environmental sustainability and affordability the technology has definitely a promising future not only in the US but in many other countries that deal with the housing crisis.
