How to make the Karlovy Vary region a better place according to Lukáš Zrůst?

9. 07. 2022

At the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival we took part in the Forbes magazine event – The Best Region.

The whole event offered several panel discussions. The co-founder of Progresus Lukáš Zrůst also spoke in one of them. The question for all discussants was clear – How to increase the attractiveness of the Karlovy Vary region, how to motivate people to return to the region not only for the festival and how to make people live in the region permanently?

All of the discussants agreed that the region is already well established today. Its leaders are working intensively on improving the transport infrastructure, healthcare and supporting cultural events outside the festival period. At the same time, the entire region offers interesting job opportunities. But what still needs to be improved?

Without a doubt, it is the housing offer that has been lacking in the region. Because of that, many residents are moving outside the Karlovy Vary region.

Lukáš Zrůst emphasized that it is necessary in the whole region to come up with housing that will be friendly to the environment and that will be attractive enough for people so they would prefer it to housing in larger cities. Wooden housing perfectly fulfills this.

There is beautiful nature, which is a nice opportunity. We would like to build houses in the mountains that would fit sensitively into the landscape. We definitely wouldn’t want to turn it into a second Špindlerův Mlýn,” Lukáš Zrůst described his intention in the discussion.

The region provides many interesting places for recreation, but at the same time, thanks to the offer of new housing, it can become a permanent home for many families. They will especially appreciate the peace in the heart of beautiful nature, but also the active way of life that the region offers. Moreover, thanks to the improving infrastructure, the entire region will be easily accessible from Prague.

Thanks to modern technologies, people will be able to work from home in the morning and go to the forest for a bike ride in the afternoon or to go skiing in the winter,” Lukáš Zrůst outlined the idea of family living in nature.

We are glad that we could be part of the discussion, which had a clear goal. To come up with a solution to create a better life and housing in Czech regions for future generations.
